The Woke Virus

Three years after covid, the world is in the grip of a new, deadly pandemic-the woke virus, commonly known as wokevid. There are no physical symptoms apart from a glassy eyed look, because it infects the human mind, causing once sensible, rational people to turn into politically correct zealots, willing to have their opinions shaped by a small minority of extremists. The symptoms include the loss of a sense of humour, a belief that women can have penises, thinking only black lives matter, a sense of outrage that the England women's football team should include white players and reading the Guardian.

 

Those most at risk appear to be the leaders of major organisations and institutions such as the church, banks, educational institutions and broadcasting companies, although scientists are at a loss to explain why people working for GB News appear to be immune. The latest victim of wokevid is the Edinburgh Fringe which has just cancelled a show by Graham Linehan, creator of 'Father Ted' despite it being sold out because a couple of people have complained it features unwoke comics. Their reason is that they are inclusive but not inclusive enough to include anyone who isn't woke.

I notice it's very prevalent on TV,  it could wear itself out as people get bored,  perhaps programme makers and producers are between a rock and a hard place.

We were having a conversation about this at the weekend, and someone referred back to the whole banning of Roy chubby Brown from performing that time in Sheffield.

 

It was agreed that it was stupid... if you don't like something, or someone, don't go and see them, however other people may like it, and that's their choice, but by banning something, you're forcing your own views on everyone, no freedom of choice given.

Folk become woke when they have something to hide, they think that being all righteous will somehow make them feel better for some guilt they have from the past.

 

Only the naive fall for it.

If this event was cancelled because of Lineham's gender-critical beliefs then this venue might be in for a wee bit of trouble.

Joanna Cherry's event was swiftly uncancelled, the venue apologised and stated that 'We now accept that the previous decision that the event could not go ahead was unfair and constituted unlawful discrimination against Ms Cherry.'

Just watch GB News and Talk TV.  You’ll get your fill of «  Woke » discussion on there. They seem obsessed with toilets and drag artists corrupting minors.
