Unfortunately not : The Times, 18 Sept 23, p15 GMC deletes 'women' from forms The General Medical Council (GMC) has been criticised for removing references to "mothers" from a maternity document. The GMC also refers to people generally, rather then to "women" in its internal policy document on the menopause. The internal guidance for pregnant employees at the regulator now uses gender neutral terms throughout, replacing phrases such as "surrogate mother" with "surrogate parent". The GMC's maternity policy says "This policy applies to all staff members who are pregnant. If you are the surrogate parent this policy [also] applies.
