As I understand it, some still don't meet Euro6 which is why there have been a number of re-allocations between OG-DO. Rotherham and Doncaster do not have Sheffield's CAZ zones, so the older vehicles that were hard to convert have been moved to DO for Rotherham/Doncaster use.

Wouldn't surprise me

Actually a good number of First's fleet didn't meet the Euro6 standards however it was far cheaper to have the emissions systems converted  than buy new buses.

That said the conversions haven't gone smoothly by what I'm told, with a number of buses consistently going into limp mode because of the new emissions systems.

Correct

All Rotherham services are now run from Sheffield.

I apologize - I forgot that, but presumably they use Euro6 compliant vehicles. I would amend my original post, but you can take this as that amendment.

I therefore presume those that they haven't been able to bring up to Euro6 are all at Doncaster, for Doncaster services.

That is right. To summarise: The Sheffield CAZ has directly caused an increase in emissions in Doncaster. Good innit?

When I was growing up, in the 1990s, the buses used to chuck out a whole load of smoke, both outside and inside the bus! It never did me any harm. I don't remember being asked if I want this euro 6/ULEZ nonsense. My answer would have been no.

They - the authorities - don't need to ask you.
