Some of the online figures quoted are “packages” that include the employers pension contribution, so often difficult to see the actual salary and get a fair comparison. I don’t believe WY MCA pay that much either. Yorkshire people being tight, who’d have thought it!

Its a Combined Authority with a mayor There is only South Yorkshire that decided to use the word "Mayoral" in its name, nothing like a bit of ego is there? to the point where in meetings, even internal ones people were told to refer to the organisation as "The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority". But for ref when Ben Still was MD of WYCA before he came to Sheff he was on £160K in 2019 Edited August 31, 2023 by sheffbag

Ben Still is currently Chief Exec ( recently changed it from MD) at WYCA, he held the equivalent position in South Yorkshire before that.

See this on WYCA’s website. All the CA’s except the North East are MCA’s ( ie they have an elected metro mayor) and the North East CA are in the process of putting one in place.
