Cutlers Hotel Refurbishment

Oh dear! :(

A large national company decides to spend a bit of its own cash on upgrading one of its hotels which just happens to be in Sheffield...
... and THIS is seen by some as "Good news"?

So how EXACTLY is this "Good news"?

How will this be a benefit to the people of Sheffield?

The people who will be using the hotel are those who would be coming to Sheffield anyway!

No-one is going to think "Do you know what? I'm going to visit Sheffield because they have a smart refurbished hotel".

"Good news" is when SCC pull their finger out and create facilities that will benefit the people who are paying their salaries!

"Good news" is when people from outside the area WANT to visit Sheffield because it offers something they can't get elsewhere!

Hanging onto the coattails of a large national company and claiming THEIR success as "Good news" just shows how desperate we have become...

And more "Good news" would be when Mr Risen and Mr Bargepole finally accept that everyone knows that they are the same person, and they are fooling no-one by talking to themselves and liking their own posts!

What a strange little person you are.

The success of large companies in Sheffield is good news. It creates and maintains jobs for those working directly for the company, and for its suppliers, brings money into the local economy.
