Just to please OG.

Cheers Pt    It just made me realise that we sometimes exercise our brains too much and forget who and what were really important to us.

Blair/Orwell's great grandfather was a wealthy slave trader, his grandfather was a vicar and his dad was a civil servant(opium)-they lived a very comfortable colonial lifestyle-not wealthy. Blair was raised in England and his experiences as a child and as a young man went far beyond most.

Winston Churchill was half American half English.

Nye Bevan, creator of the National Health Service, without whom, many of us wouldn't have lived as long and as prosperously as we have.

Agreed but Nye Bevan was Welsh, maybe we can invite him into the club ? Along with Scottish doctor Sir Alexander Fleming, the penicillin guy.

What about when Churchill was Home Secretary and ordered soldiers to open fire in striking Welsh miners? Not so 'fine' then!

Nobody is perfect 👍

Shot some Welsh miners but defeated Hitler
