cuttsie
The last and most historic pub on the Wicker is due to close in a day or two . Some speculator has bought the building and is being allowed to change it into loving accommodation and restaurant . Why don't Town planners block these schemes , Or is a case of its down there sod it .

Hundreds of pubs nationwide close down every year, its a dying trade for various reasons. Block it on what basis? "Not wanting a pub to become a house" isnt a valid objection at planning level. If the pub was still viable it wouldnt be closing. Edited September 7, 2023 by HeHasRisen

Hope you're not one of the guys pictured above then!!!! Great crowd visits "Padders Bar" Cressy. We do about 3 barrels of Stoooonnnnes each week, and the customers tell me it's like nectar. I'm hoping that one day Cuttsie will apply for membership with his cronie Mr. Graham Slinn. Just imagine having a Top Class performer like SLINNY bringing his Rock-n-Roll show to "Padders BAR" I can but dream.........

When the likes of you and me are long dead, I reckon that there will be thousands of iner-city apartment dwellers with virtually zero outside space longing for a local pub with a garden.
