Irene Swaine
I went past the Brazilian coffee bar in Pound's Park yesterday, it was closed! This was at 13:30 and it is listed as being open until 16:00. They won't get loyal customers if they can't be relied on to open when they say they will be. People will just call at Caffé Nero around the corner on their way to the park instead. Not a good first impression for a new business.

HeHasRisen
Actually did find something on their FB page, saying they open 9am until 3pm. And tends to shut when the weather is bad, seemingly for days.

Being self employed does not mean one can relax the work ethic, quite the opposite, the business depends on one's self to survive. As you say, if they shut for days on end, that's more customers going to Caffé Nero. The council should regulate that the opening times are adhered to, as happens with market stalls. Yes, it's one thing the council have got right, plenty of seating too and good to have some public toilets introduced rather than taken away. Delbow
When I was in London recently and went to Lloyd Park in Walthamstow, it had a park keeper. Imagine that.
