The owner of Poundland has agreed to take on the leases of dozens of Wilko shops. Pepco Group, which owns Poundland in the UK, is expected to convert up to 71 Wilko stores to the Poundland brand. Poundland boss Barry Williams said it recognised the last few weeks had been difficult for Wilko workers.2 hours ago

Poundland,  Home Bargains and The Range will be interested in taking on the leases of former Wilko shops in certain locations because it makes commercial sense.  The administration of Wilko is good news for rival businesses. There are always winners and losers when businesses fail.

Grow up and then you might be capable of making a sensible contribution in a topic of discussion.

I'm  wondering when you are going to do that instead of  stating the obvious.

hope st james wilko gets taken over ,great staff and very very busy shopping centre ,in fact far to small to meet demand ,but was really needed

If anything it's sites like that Poundland are likely looking to take over. Out of town, lower rents.

Hopefully most/all of the Wilco employees can be taken on by Poundland / whoever takes the stores over.  Ready made staff, already in situ, know the customer base etc etc

Depends how quickly they're able to turn the stores round.  I doubt they'll want to keep paying staff for weeks/months on end while shops are being re-fitted, and likewise people won't sit around unpaid on the off chance they'll score a job at a new store once it opens.
