Go to this website - https://www.shorturl.at/

Paste in that long link.

It will spit out one much shorter.

This one even lets you pick what the end word can be - https://tinyurl.com/app.  I tested it and reserved you https://tinyurl.com/horsforth1 if you want it.

How do I get something like the above, what is it called.

I am not technical, but I want some type of simple news page that I can share online.

Bit.Ly is just a URL shortener, if that's all you want then your answer is above...

If not, and you want a full website,  you could google for "Free blog builder" and give some a go, otherwise you're looking at picking and buying a web address, paying for hosting, and building your own (or setting up one of the many existing) templates for what you want!

That page is actually an email. It is the online archive of an email sent via Mailchimp.

If you're wanting a webpage there are lots of web builders out there. You probably want to search for a few blog providers (Wordpress.com is a popular hosted one). They can be a bit of a learning curve to set up and get the look and feel right, but once it is set you then just add your posts into it fairly easily.

For something similar to the link you posted though there is substack. It is a blogging platform with email subscriptions built into it (i.e. when you post people who have subscribed get an email too) and is what recently popular publications like The Tribune are built on. You can eventually monetise it by having paywalled content (if that is what you're looking for down the line) if you wish.
