Abolishing  the slave trade.

Starting the industrial revolution.

Leaving the EU.

just 3 examples of how the UK has led the World.

Indeed,  we all accept that Britain  led the world for many years. when we were not governed by morons.

The point is that we are now world trailers instead of world leaders and are behind in almost everything.

Stop contributing nonsense.  The UK are World leaders in issues relating to climate change and delivering net zero.  The UK are still in front in almost everything.

You’ve long been the leader and will be hard to shift from the front of the queue when it comes to spouting bobbar on here.

outside London, light rail for urban transport is almost non existent*.

our houses are badly insulated - and we've passed laws to jail anyone who mentions it.

we've effectively banned new on-shore wind power.

we're still draining and burning our peatlands (one of the biggest carbon-stores in Europe).

after at least a decade, we're still dragging our feet on Small Modular Reactors - leaving us reliant on Gas, and giving away our significant headstart on this extremely valuable buisness.

which is what i find so frustrating, so much of what we need to do, is *great* for buisness! (and jobs, etc)

(*even here in Sheffield,  we put a lot of effort into making sure the trams don't go anywhere useful)

" Rishi Sunak has been accused of claiming to have “scrapped” measures such as taxes on meats and flying that were never Government policy.

Conservative former Cabinet minister Sir Simon Clarke criticised the Prime Minister for putting up “a lot of straw men” as he weakened environmental policies. "
