Meh - Harlem Globetrotters would have bounced that ball between their legs a couple of times at least.

So it should have been 0-7 in your reckoning?

It doesn’t work like that, it’s a bit of a paradox.

If the goal had been disallowed the rest of the match would’ve been totally different as it would’ve taken a different course from that point.

Maybe we’d have gone on to lose 0-10, who knows, but it’s not as straight forward as to just knock a goal off the final score.

He still handled the ball.

So was it delibarate or not?

If my side collapsed totally on one decision that wasn't at all straightforward I'd be far more worried about their ability / commitment  / management etc.

That’s not the point. The match would’ve gone a totally different way from that point.
Even the next kick after the goal would’ve been from a different place.

No one knows what would’ve happened then.

It’s not as straightforward as just saying it would’ve ‘only’ been 0-7 as anything could’ve happened.

Paradox.

Would it?

Teams with ability / character / even half organised can pick themselves up and fight back.

To lose another 7  goals shows summat seriously wrong

Not very convincing - is Gordon's right forearm much  shorter than his left one?

Source of the pic?

There's this thing called perspective , Gordon's left arm is slightly behind him, his right arm slightly in front of him.

Perhaps this will help you understand.

Or maybe in your case  like Dougal maybe not.

For the avoidance of doubt that first goal should have been disallowed, but that did not excuse the capitulation that followed.

Understand the perspective argument - unclear from the pics on the thread if the ball was handled - still less deliberately - and the law at the moment seems to be all over the place.

Correct about the resulting capitulation. No excuses.

As you say the current rules are ridiculous. When it suits the narrative handball has to be deliberate, but there have been numerous penalty's awarded when it was obvious that the ball had struck the arm with no intent from the defender.

Today it was obvious that without the handball the player wouldn't have been able to control the ball as he did. Take a look at the penalty that Luton were awarded for handball.

Given the speed and the deflection of the ball how the hell could the defender have avoided that? And yet it was given, whilst the one today which was far more clear cut wasn't.

His arm was away from his body for balance, in the same way that Egan's arm was away from his body in the Man City penalty incident.

Makes you wonder if any of these clowns laying down the rules have ever actually played the game.

Sorry - from my location (France) can't view the video. From reports I've read it wasn't intentional but prevented a certain goal.

Laws, and interpretation - handball, offside etc - seem to be all over the place.

As an ex Sunday League ref I tended to favour the attacking team.
