What's the problem with that ? The problem Is that petrol/diesel cars are dreadful for the environment. In much the same way that we are phasing out smoking, we need to phase out fossil fuel cars. That requires the government and the car manufacturers to work together to do the right thing. In the UK, it seems that the car manufacturers are willing, but the government are too focussed on scrambling a few votes from pensioners to look at things rationally.
