Christ Really Was Right, The Meek Shall Inherit The Earth (By Order).

Recommended Posts

On the thread about the John Lewis boss calling for abusing shop workers to be an offence there was, amongst much else, a discussion about those signs in shops etc "we have a zero tolerance of abuse". But, of course, "abuse" is totally subjective, so who gets to define it ? One or two on that thread seriously suggested that the "victim" should be the one to define it, even if they happen to be of a rather "over sensitive disposition"..... Thus we are in a race to the bottom, so to speak, as to what is acceptable behaviour these days. More and more stuff is considered unacceptable or even banned altogether, and it is driven by what the most sensitive person would find upsetting. And I think this trend will continue, getting more and more extreme as it snowballs.

So, JC really was right : "the meek shall inherit the earth".

There is, of course, a huge irony about this because religion, particularly Judeo Christian religion, is in steep decline, yet JC's prediction looks like it really will still come to pass....

The other irony is that the sheep will always need a shepherd. Lot's of 'em.

Always a career opportunity there!

It is OK, Checkers Jesus had you covered in the Sermon on the Mount, when he said:

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

So worry not. Your quest for righteousness is not in vain. Indeed, I suspect that it will earn you entry into the kingdom of heaven.

Just don’t stick your head out of the window, when you get there.

Closer to home.

Shoppers, mothers with baby prams bicyclists and senior citizens, are allowed to walk over, through and along the supertram rails, with many reported accidents.

Not many severed heads found along the railway lines, though.

How about mandatory umbrellas for pedestrians walking in the rain?

Imagine all the respiratory aliments that could be prevented. Ease the burden on the NHS, where women, seniors, children and minorities are most vulnerable!  :)

(File this in the "Can't be too careful" bin) :)

Indisputably true.

It’s a lyric from a song.

You would probably benefit from a bit of music in your life. Google it.

Mind you, I’m not sure that early Dylan will lift your mood all that much.
