The Yom Kippur War .

Recommended Posts

Jezza Corbyn seems to know who is at fault

"Israeli air strikes have hit Al Ahli hospital in Gaza. More than 500 people - patients, doctors & those sheltering - have been killed.

What unspeakable horror. We will mourn their loss forever.

Our leaders could have spoken up for peace. They chose to cheer on war instead."

No surprise the man who despises Israel couldn’t wait to jump in, but the hypocrite should probably remember what he said about the Salisbury poisonings, when the evidence was actually greater:-

The Labour leader described the Salisbury attack as an "appalling act of violence", but urged the Government to ensure its response is "decisive, proportionate and based on clear evidence".

Israel developed the 'Patriot' missile defence system that the allies used in the first Iraq war to stop the Scud missiles

It's extremely effective

However, the Hamas R160 rocket would not destroy a hospital....the 27kg warhead is not powerful enough

Seems strange

Maybe Hamas were storing weapons there and the falling rocket set off a chain reaction

It was on TV that Hamas had many tunnels underneath hospitals, schools and mosques so I wouldn't be surprised if weapons where stored there.

Everybody wants peace, except the participants........

Not just the actual participants Padders, there's multi billions to made from the production and sale of armaments and being able to resupply and upgrade at regular intervals is very profitable.

President Eisenhower warned against the power of the Military Industrial Complex in his farewell speech as he retired from the Presidency.

That was over sixty one years ago and is still relevant. Dwight D Eisenhower was a Republican President and former Supreme Allied Commander Europe during WW2.

Not exactly a ' Lefty ' then,  if he had such concerns they should have been taken seriously.

Still good news for stocks and shares.   https://responsiblestatecraft.org/2023/02/24/war-is-great-for-the-portfolio-as-defense-stocks-enjoy-a-banner-year/

There is fault on both sides and everyone should know that.

I agree with Jeremy's comments ( in bold )

Corbyn DOES NT despise Israel at all,  but like all thinking people,  he recognises that whilst they occupy Palestinian land there will never be real peace.

Even the UN has condemned them for that.

He is also correct in saying that  they should  "ensure its response is "decisive, proportionate and based on clear evidence".

That is the wording on war crimes.

Video on Twitter supposedly showing the explosion.  Rocket launches from Gaza, interception then the big blast at the hospital.

Israeli's are saying one rocket got off the ground (intercepted) and hit the Hamas weapons stockpile.

On the news last night an Israeli army guy said the iron dome does not operate inside Gaza so how can they have intercepted the rocket before it blew up?

Something I saw pointed out earlier;

How quickly the Palestinian authorities were to announce 500 dead.  Within the hour of the explosion was it??

So it was the rocket mis-firing?

It's the only thing you see in the video, the rocket goes up, breaks up and falls down again?

Why not just move to Egypt or Jordan then   -   I'm sure you would be much happier living with them.

Although, if they had you,  they might be adding Englishmen to that list.

Foreign travel advice now?  :)

What about catastrophic global warming?  :)

And what happened to "live and let live"?  :)

We were reminded upthread that the IDF are a modern, professional army. Armies of that sort don't bomb hospitals by mistake.

We are reminded that the armchair warriors are so quick to jump in and attack the Jews, even before the blood has dried!

Biden tells Netanyahu Gaza hospital hit ‘appears’ to be ‘by the other team, not you’

"The president was asked during a meeting later Wednesday with Israeli community members what made him sure that was the case.

“The data I was shown by my Defense Department,” Biden said.
