They knew what the out come would be , They planned the out come and now innocent people on both sides are suffering . Ask yourself why they did this at that moment in time / The answer is they hate the Jewish people . The last thing they want is peace in the area . NOBODY on this forum have tried to defend Hamas in any way. I don't know which strike you are referring to or when, but we do already know the bloodthirsty attributes of Hamas which are not in question by anyone here. Not both sides at all . Iran is the kingpin of the lot who arms all the various terrorist groups and gives them orders what to do and has scuppered piece talks in Israel, Gaza, West Bank and Lebanon. The middle east is a difficult place to attain peace because of the many interested factions but the PLO and Israel could possibly organise a deal between the two of them, or at least try. So your 3rd line - Has "knowing that Israel will respond" made any difference in stopping the attacks. You seem to think that bloodthirsty revenge attacks will stop it but it won't and never has. Didn't prevent Oct 7 did it ? They need a properly agree and supervised 2 state solution and everyone needs to join in seeking out terrorism..
