The organisers of the march made it clear they didn't want him there, and no doubt he wanted to 'piggy back' on the march to continue stirring up hatred of Muslims.

And Boris Johnson:

Boris Johnson penned book on 'fiddling' Jews - now he's marching against antisemitism | indy100

So being in public has become arrestable because some one objects to you being there?

Unless you know any different, that seems to be the case.

What was he arrested for?

“At around 13.30 on Saturday 26 November, officers working as part of the policing and security operation for the March Against Antisemitism arrested a 40-year-old man on the Strand. He had refused to comply with a direction to disperse.”

“We have been in frequent contact with the organisers of the march in recent days. They have been clear about their concerns that the man’s attendance, and that of those who were likely to accompany him, would cause fear for other participants.”

“As a result, he was spoken to and warned on more than one occasion that his continued presence in the area was likely to cause harassment, alarm and distress to others. He was directed to leave the area but refused to do so. We are aware he suggested he was a journalist. This wasn’t a relevant factor in his arrest”

Metropolitan Police

I think we've heard Robinson's claims to be a journalist before.

I doubt that the well supported and well deserved organisers and supporters of anti  semitism thought that Robinson and Co would add to their cause, any more than those at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Day did.

Most people recognise him for what he is.

Best not to give him the oxygen

The police action has given him the oxygen, and sets a precedence they can arrest anyone just for being in public.

It hasn’t set a precedent at all. The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 enables police officers to require a person who has committed, or is likely to commit, antisocial behaviour to leave a specified area and not return for up to 48 hours. According to the Met, Robinson was arrested for ignoring such a dispersal order. I doubt that he is the only person to have been issued with such and order since 2014.
