Winter Weather 2023/2024

Recommended Posts

Not far into into Autumn and already a couple of strong storms... who knows what proper winter weather will bring.

Though according to the old wives tales, when we've been walking in woods and parks, we've notived the holly bushes are heaving with berries, this apparently means winter will be harsh and very cold, if you believe in that sort of thing 🤔

Well I think I do. Nature knows best and acts accordingly to balance things up. There are a lot of people follow these signs and they often turn out to be correct.

Personally, I hate winter, so I more or less hibernate. I stock up on comfort food, hot chocolate, warm clothes and some good books, and wait for the Spring.

As a child I remember being told stories about animals building houses out of wood and then sitting by the the fire during the cold months of winter, squirrels for example.

But having an indoor fire and a house made of wood can't be a good idea?

A few months in the trenches Rogets, and up to your neck in mud and bullets.

A bit of rain and the young un's can't cope!
