Kelham Island

Recommended Posts

Who do they think they are these Island dwellers .

They are now refusing to have car parking in the new developments pushing the car owners out into other peoples spaces , The phrase up their own arises comes to mind .

On top of this this Island nation are now spreading into Neepsend another industrial historical area being taken over by the  Yuppie brigade .

Not in my back yard seems to be the attitude portrayed by the pink trouser brigade as they spread into areas that should be for social housing ,     Areas where proper Sheffielders  sweated and toiled in rolling mills, furnaces and engineering work shops .

These  lost workers children and grand children cannot hope to get a foothold on the property market and they are banished into the far outskirts of our City destined to live with mam and dad for ever .

The same issue at Park Hill.flats

They're starting to development the last section (Phase 3) and the developers have said that they will need to convert some of the green spaces into parking because there won't be enough parking for residents

This has always been the plan since 2008

But the more vocal people who now live at Park Hill are extremely leftie so they protested saying that the world was ending so everyone at Park Hill shouldn't have cars and that we should all walk, bike or use public transport

The developers have given in so now there won't be enough parking for all the cars.

There isn't enough now

So I bet the same people will be complaining about all the cars illegally parked, blocking entrances, pavements and on the grass

I could understand their point of it was a small village in Buxton or something

But this is a urban housing complex in the city centre of a major city full of young professionals, families with kids and students

I think people should be able to drive their cars along the balconies and park outside their door. There's still the big milk-float lift to accommodate the idea.

We don't want all these students and kids having to play in a car park.

Cuttsie does realise that the people who move into these developments didnt decide on the car parking arrangements when the buildings were being built, doesnt he?

Areas change use from industrial to residential, maybe he needs to get over it. Does he want these areas just sat there, with a load of old factories crumbling into ruin as some sort of odd memorial?

Yes . They decided they would park on another street. Nice empty roads on the development, side roads packed with cars.

He seems to be blaming the people living there for the apartments having no parking to begin with though.
