Kelham Island

Recommended Posts

One of the good things about living in Pitsmoor is that you can enjoy the restaurants, pubs and bars of Kelham and Neepsend, while having much better access to green space, no flooding risk, have a good sized house with a garden and you don't have to live next door to someone who works in digital marketing.

A Pitsmoor artist once had some signs made that he put up in Kelham Island reading 'Welcome to Lower Pitsmoor' 😆

I think people should be able to drive their cars along the balconies and park outside their door. There's still the big milk-float lift to accommodate the idea.

We don't want all these students and kids having to play in a car park.

A friend moved onto the Kelvin Flats when they were first built. He had just acquired a new Norton Commando m/cycle and no way was he leaving that in the car park, so he took it up to his flat in the big service lift and kept it in the hallway.

Cuttsie does realise that the people who move into these developments didnt decide on the car parking arrangements when the buildings were being built, doesnt he?

Areas change use from industrial to residential, maybe he needs to get over it. Does he want these areas just sat there, with a load of old factories crumbling into ruin as some sort of odd memorial?

Favourite little phrase of yours.   He's entitled to his view so maybe he doesn't need to get over it at all.  Maybe you do,  if you find his view so annoying.

Remember that councils and government are hoping to cut the number of cars anyway, and most especially in the city centres.

Yes, it is annoying. The factories arent going to be reopened, so what does he expect to happen to those areas? Maybe he can tell us.

He did.   Cuttsie said,   post #7,   "Read my lips ,  social housing needed".

And where does the money come from for this?
