The poppy appeal has raised £2 billion since it started.

What is the money spent on?

Is the money needed these days?

We have the benefit system to look after people, the army personnel are reasonably well paid with a pension and compensation for injurries.

Billions is raised by various charities, you would think hardship was a thing of the past.

Why does it still exist?

Ask the Royal British Legion - or look on their website.

Any comment on the actual topic of the thread which was about a very positive act and generosity and support for our servicemen and women from the general public.

It was not about the functions of the RBL.

So we're censoring the use of some historically racist language for being offensive, but allowing others as OK?

That seems a tad hypocritical...

loud, ill-informed, obnoxious opinions, and ranting to verge of inducing a stroke, aren't racial stereotypes.

The  Royal British Legion were finding it difficult to recruit poppy sellers in Brighton.

Patrick Christy of GBnews decided to start a Just Giving site to raise the £10,000 normal collected in Brighton.

Between yesterday and today over £150,000 has been raised for the RBL.

Well done GBnews !

Well Brighton is full of lefties

And we all know the lack of respect they have for our statues and monuments

They probably think that the poppy is a symbol of white supremacy

You actually been to Brighton and met its residents? I have, and your description doesn't resemble what I know.
