But you are wrong, unfortunately. It is a long term trend trend that's been going on for about 200 years, but it's just going into the stratosphere now. Basically modern society is spiralling down to the level where even the most over sensitive, risk averse, irresponsible, and (frankly) brainless person could never ever get themselves in a situation where they might be upset or in any danger whatsoever. And everyone else has to live their lives to fit in with that requirement. Christ has been proven correct, the meek really are inheriting the earth, by order. It is, unfortunately, unarguably true. Remember everyone is entitled to their opinions even if you disagree with them. So, Chekhov doesn't seem to like the way the World is going. Well for what it's worth neither do I, and a lot more of us for various reasons. There's an awful lot of general discontent out there, and not much you can do about it, so people vent on SF.
