Workers should be paid a living wage for a 40 hour week and there should be NO zero hour contracts. If those 2 conditions are not met, then the workers are being exploited. The number of companies going bust this year is on track to be the highest since the depths of the financial crisis in 2009. So they are struggling to even survive. We have relatively low unemployment at the moment, so not a problem. Many firms now work on 37 hours, so things have improved.

I like my single life, I can come and go as I please. Last year I was at a friend's wedding, and I must admit I did feel a "wish it was me" pang - but then I remember the arguments, bickering and compromises
