Journalist Looking For North Sheffield Stories

Hi everyone,

I am a trainee journalist at the University of Sheffield and I am looking for stories in the north of Sheffield (also north-east, north-west, and generally north of the A61 ringroad).

Please comment if you have/know of a potential story.

This will be initially for uni-wide circulation, but I will be pitching to local news outlets too.

Thanks!

A man who killed his common law wife and encased her head in a block of concrete was yesterday sentenced to life imprisonment.

A jury at Sheffield crown court took three hours to find Kenneth Peatfield, aged 50, guilty of murdering Susan Craven. During the three-week trial the jury heard that Mrs Craven, aged 54, disappeared on March 5 last year. Two days later Peatfield took his 17-year-old lover, Faith Warner, to the home he shared with Mrs Craven.

A 50 year old going out with a 17 year old 🤮. Where the hell are this girl's parents?
