geared Posted November 6, 2023 Share Posted November 6, 2023 Judge might need to time gather various reports on the killer before making his decision on the sentence. or they might just be busy. cressida Posted November 6, 2023 Share Posted November 6, 2023 Ryan Giggs had to have a re-trial - he was cleared - but he had to wait nearly a year with it hanging over his head, I can't see if that's reasonable, I hope he was compensated, not sure about Benjamin Mendy who was also cleared, both trials took months. Not sure why he should be compensated. The fact that that the first jury couldn’t reach a verdict proves the CPS were correct in charging him. Like most public services, the justice system is starved of cash and compensating everybody who has a long wait would only make things worse.
