If I remember correctly ,a nurse told me Vitamin D is the only one worth taking . All the others are a waste of time . She also told me the trick with the garlic . Warm Ribena is good for colds and flu. I find it soothes the stomach, and eases chills. Thank you 🙏 30 minutes ago, El Cid said: Vitamin D is something that people are often low on, at this time of year. Thank you. I didn't know that 👍 1 hour ago, Al Bundy said: Not too much wine, maybe 100mg and maybe a teaspoon of pepper or chilli flakes. It's tastes unpleasant but it will help. 👍 Cheers matey. It does sound grim but I'm definitely game 👍
Cyclunt
Gardening. Works every time for me. Get a good sweat up, keep them aching muscles moving, then a hot shower and a glass of scotch. Perfect remedy for man flu.

Woke up yesterday feeling drained, bad cough, aches etc. She's off the gym for a few days, my lad has started with it too. My way to deal with it is...... Plenty of Vitamin C, warm lemon honey and whiskey, plenty of fluids, eat clean and my famous (in our house anyway) chicken and veg soup. A few days of this and I'll be right as rain. How do you deal with the Flu? Daddy mi old pal. If you care to read my thread posted on Oct,23rd. "Curing a cold" You will find all the relevant information on how to deal with the "Flu"

Dardandec
Get as much rest/sleep as you can, keep hydrated, keep warm, paracetamol on an empty stomach up to 4 times a day (Save one for bedtime) some nice hot baths (Sweat it out of you) Hot water bottle in bed, and some nice hot soups. Works for me.

Longcol
The two times I've had flu as an adult were in the winter and I was as weak as a kitten, feverish and hallucinating - had all on to get out of bed and crawl to the toilet, never mind making multiple posts on SF, A good half the folk I know use cold / flu as well nigh interchangeable. Quite a lot of covid in circulation as well.
Prettytom
Generally, I just man up. I reject any medical intervention and rely on my IMMUNE SYSTEM.
