‘Discrimination’ sees transgender player quit Sheffield women’s football league club after rival’s knee break

A transgender player for a women’s football team in South Yorkshire has stepped down after alleged discrimination.

Some teams in a Sheffield women’s football league are refusing to play against a club after a transgender player caused a season-ending injury to an opponent.

The boycott is said to have followed after the transgender woman, who played for Rossington Main Ladies FC, caused an injury to opponent at Mosborough Ladies, resulting in a broken knee on October 29. Rossington Main Ladies, which is based in a village near Doncaster, wrote that the accident was as a result of “passion and commitment from a very talented player”.

I presume  the player who broke the lady player's knee was born a male.  Anyone who is born male should not be playing for a female football team.  Men are much stronger than females which is why they have separate teams and separate leagues.  They need to bring in legislation to ban anyone born male from playing in female sporting teams.

No sense or irony from the person that broke the woman's knee though:

This has prompted me to investigate pursuing a case of discrimination, as I believe it represents a breach of the code of conduct, as well as safeguarding of adults in football

Talking of safeguarding adults when they've just put someone on crutches.

The born man should think he is fortunate that some boyfriend/husband, brother or father of the injured female did not take revenge on him rather than complaining about discrimination.

In better news: Transgender players banned from international women’s cricket by ICC

Quote

The International Cricket Council has become the latest sports body to ban transgender players from the elite women’s game if they have gone through male puberty.

The ICC said it had taken the decision, following an extensive scientific review and nine-month consultation, to “protect the integrity of the international women’s game and the safety of players”.

It joins rugby union, swimming, cycling, athletics and rugby league, who have all gone down a similar path in recent years after citing concerns over fairness or safety.

Explaining the sport’s decision, the ICC chief executive, Geoff Allardice, said: “The changes to the gender eligibility regulations resulted from an extensive consultation process and is founded in science and aligned with the core principles developed during the review.

“Inclusivity is incredibly important to us as a sport, but our priority was to protect the integrity of the international women’s game and the safety of players.”
