Insomnia

I must take after my dear departed dad who didn't need much sleep. It was always after midnight when he went to bed and because he and my mom ran a newsagents shop he was always up at about 4 am.

 

I never go to bed until 2:30 / 3:00 every morning and I'm usually up at 8 / 8:30 am.  I'm retired now but I was just the same when working, in fact I'd be up even earlier.

I find listening to a podcast helps, I usually listen to a science one, find it very soothing and I rarely get to the end. Put ear phones in if you are sharing a bed!!

I find I just listen to podcasts until 4 am. Medical cannabis is the one reliable thing that works.

It's something I've never tried. 

 

I've smoked a few joints but they make me high rather than sleepy

 

I am open to any suggestions to be honest.
