$4M = over £3M. January, historically, is a bad month for buying long term contracted players in the position we find ourselves in.There's just not that much business and this year seems to be worse than others.  Maybe OK if you have big money to spend. Fact is, we're in the bargain basement.

Is the £3M  being offered just funds to keep us in the league or will it still be available at the end of the season wherever we find ourselves.

Your post #310 states that SWFC made a bid of "over £2m"

If it had been over £3m then they would surely have said "over £3m".

Therefore you were probably not in the running if Blackburn offered "close to $4m"

Just face up to it. Your owner hasn't got the money to invest in the squad. If he had, he would have done. Its the 31st January and you haven't bought a single player. Why hasn't he bought anyone?

How many players do you own that have a market value of over £1m?

(Transfermkt states one. Who you actually got on a free)

£1m is peanuts for Championship player valuations.

He does not invest in the squad to the level required. Take those rose-tinted off for once!

Try and keep up papa, we've been in a bidding war with Blackburn. I am not party to exact figures, but the rumour was they started by matching a £2M + bid and that we've matched them all the way but the player favoured Blackburn. Not difficult to understand really if you knew anything about finance.

It’s a fantasy bid, which materialised on the same day as the early bird season tickets.

Just a coincidence, of course.

Must be true. I read it on Owlstalk.

Ipswich have got 14 players in their squad with a value of over £1m. Eight of which are worth more than £3m.

Thats an interesting "owner who invests in the squad" comparison to make isn't it.

Their position in the table shows what happens when you invest in the squad. Your position in the tables shows what happens when you don't - as does ours.

The difference is, I'm happy to admit that our owner isn't up to the job.

That said, we've not held any protest marches, thrown any tennis balls, started up protest groups, chanted for his removal at games, or ripped down any banners in the stadium yet.

trouble is blackburn sell a player for millions ,so when they sign the american international there still quids in ,our problem is our league position nothing else ,so even with cash it aint easy as we dont know which league we will be in next season.it was chansiris fault he chose a manager who had a promotion on his CV ,but he got it wrong so now hes got it right its now our position that does not help us . so might be best in some ways to wait until the summer ,pity as we have in my opinion the best backroom staff for years ,lets hope we dont lose them whatever happens, because they did not come here to fail .

Wow, that's a big gamble Blackburn have taken there. Astounded we were in with a chance at those prices. Still, great to see DC is still willing to spend some of his "OWN" money on players as opposed to a banks loan money and having the club in hock.

Be interesting tomorrow who he spends the 3 million of his own money on .
