Could someone name a State where communism works?

Personally I favour Social democracy ,it's a pity that many of us are swayed by the rich politicians ,media, and multinationals that Capitalism is the answer .

You have to remember that Communism is the ultimate Bogeyman in the West. You are never going to hear a good word about it, only the negative stuff from cradle to grave. So you have to go to communist countries to get a real taste of it, and for the majority of people, it's not half as bad as it's painted.  Believe it or not, they go about their lives quite happily.

Are people in North Korea happy?

How about Cuba?

The people of the USSR didn't seem happy

Or East Germany

Oh yea, so why did all the constituent member states of the 'good old USSR' want out?

Always wanted to visit Havana Jack.

From what I've seen on various documentary programme's the people of Cuba are very happy..

And "Apparently" they have the best health service in the World.

Off course I would say that being a big fan of Fidel Castro.

Not at all

Capitalism gives anyone the opportunity to succeed and in the UK it doesn't matter what race, religion, gender or sexuality

If you work hard you will be rewarded

And we have a very privileged luxurious life in the UK

We have everything anyone can ever wish for

We also have socialism in the UK where if you're lazy you won't starve

The taxpayer will pick up the slack

I agree with much of that apart from the reference to Socialism and  lazy people.

My politics will forever be centre left with some tolerance for centre right.

I believe in two basic benefits in a civilised country.

One being a safety net for those who fall on hard times despite their best endeavours.

The other being the NHS.

There will certainly be a few who play the system but this applies equally to some shady businesses who treat their workers shabbily.

Not only the cream rises to the top.Sometimes it’s the dross.

Cuba was all but the 51st US State, I am no fan of Communism, however it was the only way to go if they wanted rid of the Yanks.
