Considering quitting all forums and getting out more.

Go for it Crookesey.

You'll not notice a difference when you come back.

Just come back from a self-imposed 9 month away and it's just the same.

1 post wonders who want to find 'Joe' who 'lived at / worked at/ attend some school in 1932 /married Flo.

1 post wonders who want to sell up down south and want to know what it's like in (usually one of the rougher areas of this great city)

(Most of the above never having introduced themselves to the forum first).

and the 'Scammers'  bombarding the new post section.

Other than that what a  great little forum.

If you haven't gone yet - come back soon 😀

The Hidden Pitfalls of Abstaining from Alcohol (from one who knows).

Just short of 18 years alcohol free (December 25th 2005).

The slight overhang (Beer-belly) is still there.

Do I feel better for abstaining? Truth - Not at Christmas.

Why! 'prey tell' I hear you say.

Lack of alcohol causes all sorts of problems .

My usual 7 or 8 bottles of Whisky (usually Bourbon ) from family members have now been replaced by large box's of Scottish shortbread,  slippers, tubs of chocolates / king size Toblerone's  (which I rarely eat) , Jumpers (that I will never ware) (unless in't garage)  and worst of all framed family photos (usually taken on a beach in some foreign land from their last summer holiday).

The wider implications to the abstaining of alcohol are not  solely confined to Christmas neither, Birthdays and anniversaries are all susceptible to the same type of gifts being given,  so, be warned -think carefully before committing to a life of strange presents before giving up the grog.

Keep safe out there and drink responsibly. 🧐 8) 🎅

I am thinking about gym membership, I used to go every week. I have a call from the doc book for wednesday, so see what he/she says.

I also want to go to the local supermarket twice per week, in order to buy pre-made salads for dinner/tea.

The house is a little tidier at the moment, I need to build on that.
