Coventry V Sheffield Wednesday Fc

I didn't expect anything today which wouldn't have been too much of an issue if we'd held out as we should have v Cardiff.

Coventry looked a good side with Lathibeaudiere running the show and Sakamoto a great out let upfront, the Owls game plan was probably to keep it tight and hit Cov with a bit of pace late on, the injury to Patterson led to an enforced change which scuppered that, we did create some chances but they were few and far between and the home side continued to dominate, the Owls did have a spell in the second half where they put CC under a bit of pressure and whilst still at 1-0 there looked to be a chance, the best came from one of those scrambles in the box where the ball just won't go in. Diaby who'd been great during the game got into an altercation with Kitching after the final whistle which led to dismissals for both, another that will now be missing from an already depleted squad.

We simply have to get at the very least three points from the next two games to give us any hope.

Cov City dominated the 1st half, Wednesday struggled to get a grip of the middle and it looked all to easy to pass around us, Byers didnt get close enough to his man and allowed a  cross to come into the box and the owls trailed deservedly so at the break. One really frustrating moment on the edge of citys box when a ball broke lose Barry Wednesday was the closest man to the ball and never reacted allowing city to snuff out the danger.

Wednesday did come into the game more 2nd half and created chances that, as usual werent taken, two swipes inside the 6 yard box were both repelled and young Cadamateri tested the keeper with a snap effort, but in  reality CC never lost control and again we dug our own grave as this time Johnson wasnt close enough to his man to stop a cross and we payed the ultimate price.

Again its the lack of goals throughout the side thats hampering any sustained momentum the fact the new manager has now resorted to promoting kids that DO score to try and manufacture a goal threat is indicative of the squads lack of goals.
