It's Getting Ridiculous Now.

Mark Robins is completely assisting the MSM in trying to make this booing a racial issue.

Many players, especially pantomime villains which Palmer has previous for have been booed at Hillsborough.

Unfortunately one throbber took it too far and will quite rightly be banned.

Are black players immune from criticism or booing now?

Palmer was booed because of his antics, not his skin colour, fortunately those with half a brain and those that don't benefit from clicks ( owlstalk) can understand this.

I remember ex-Notts Forest player, Jason Lee's wife once on a radio show, stating that his mental health, (jump on that fad!) had been affected by opposition fans constantly singing, "You've got a pineapple on your head, you've got a pineapple....", because of his hairstyle at the time.  Even Skinner & Bediel used to take the mickey out of him on their 'Fantasy Football' programme.

I also remember Gazza playing at BDTBL & the constant chants about him being fat & a load of Mars Bars being thrown from the South Stand.  What did Gascoigne do?  He ran over, collected the Mars Bar up in his shirt & gave a thumbs up & a big smile to the South Stand.

Agree with last sentence. It’s either malicious or a misunderstanding to equate booing a player due to his antics with racism due to his skin colour.

Ah yes, but that doesn't sell newspapers or garner clicks on forums.

The owls forum Owlstalk is absolutely having a meltdown, all self flagellation and moral righteous.

Apparently bans and deleted accounts are at a high because some are not agreeing with it's man child owner.  And yet he allows one fan to constantly offer to meet up to fight others and tell other fans to openly F- off and to get out of our club, abusing regular and popular posters who have the audacity to have a different view.

But that's ok because that particular poster is black, and because the owner of the website is so blinded by his petulant child like motives he doesn't realise how utterly condescending he is being towards black folk.

The bloke is an absolute cretin.

There is a problem though. We had a fan last week making monkey gestures at a black opposition player. We followed that up with a slew of people on various social media platforms, making excuses for the monkey gestures,

Then we boo an anti racist gesture in a stadium where a racist incident happened a few days previously. All that on international tv. Regardless of what you think about knee taking. Surely you can recognise the context and just ignore it.

We have a knobhead element in our fan base who need calling out. We might not be able to civilise them, but we can, and we should,  disapprove of them.

Afternoon Tom, good night out?

I didn't see any posts making excuses for the monkey gesture, not one.  Plenty giving reasons and excuses for booing him though.

Kneeling whether you like it or not is associated with the BLM. movement, a movement that has had leaders and associates up in court on fraud charges, I personally wouldn't boo the kneeling but I can understand why some do, it doesn't automatically make them racist. However the booing of it last night was not a good luck, granted.

Every fan base has knobheads, always has, always will, this will never change but hopefully CCTV will help eradicate such individuals.

The booing  was down to Palmers conduct last week, hes abused a young ball girl and left her in tears, and told her to FO all because she didnt run to fetch the ball, swapped comments with a young lad sat in the disabled section, had a run in with a section of the crowd exchanging gestures and verbals throughout the 2nd half of the league game, and at one point he became detached from the football and seemed more interested in the slanging match, pretty sure the ref went over to him when he abused the ball girl and I expected him to be subbed off when CC made their subs such was his conduct at that stage.

If you court controversy you run the risk of escalation, which is what happened, emotions were running high in that part of the stadium, had he let his football do the talking what followed wouldnt have happened.

I hope you didn't post such a reasonable point on owlstalk as the man child owner would have you banned.
