Sydney To Get A Brand New '30-Minute City' With Car-Free Streets:

Recommended Posts

Here's what it will look like

Australia's newest city' has set high expectations promising to be greener and more sustainable while promoting car-free streets and quick access to facilities.

Bradfield City is being built next to Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek with the first buildings to be ready by the time the airport opens in 2026.

The city will be built as the state government looks to fulfill its ambitious three-cities strategy, with Parramatta and Sydney CBD the other two major hubs.

The plan is aimed at decentralising work, shopping and leisure activities into regional areas and reduce car use and travel times for residents.

The NSW government released its master plan hoping to receive community feedback on the design

Bradfield City will have a central park to add to the vegetation interspersed throughout the area, a pool near natural wetlands and a 'green loop' for active transport.

'We're creating a beautiful and sustainable city that will be green, advanced, and connected to world-class transport,' the planning website says.

'Bradfield City Centre will be cyber smart and digitally led, with commercial and community facilities including retail, cultural facilities, and open green spaces.'

It will be one of the biggest urban developments ever undertaken in Australia and the first major city to be built in over 100 years.

Sounds great, i'm sure the people who end up living there will love it.

i wish we could be so ambitious in this country.

...

meanwhile, *in* this country, British-Folding-Bike-Company Brompton want to build a new factory. The Highways Agency have blocked the plan, saying it needs a bigger employee-car-park.

(Brompton have said they don't really want employees driving to work)

Brompton have changed the plans, to include a small car park. The HA have blocked the plan, saying that the small car park will lead to an increase in traffic.

How are we supposed to ever build anything in this country?!

Excellemt video. Everyone should watch it.

Covers more than just 15 minue cities, but what the future may well have in store for us.

Jordan Peterson is no crazy conspiracy theorist but a well respected academic. When he talks people should listen. The rudimentary building blocks of this distopean future are already in place....

its sad to see so many on the "left" getting so far down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole they fall into the trap of starting to follow and espouse what some of the right are saying :( Its why some on the left fall into the anti semitism trap.

What is it about Jordan Peterson and Joe Rogan that lefties don't like?

Is it the way they calmly and succinctly get their views across without screaming and shouting or getting aggressive?

Maybe it's why millions upon millions watch their stuff.
