Indeed! THe statement from Stagecoach Supertram was: "We expect the tramway to fully re-open on or around Friday 23 February. We'll provide updates nearer the time to confirm when services will resume. "The work requires specialist third party welders and external preparation of the rail. The materials used to undertake the works on site can also be affected by wet weather conditions." hackey lad
The 8/8a runs through the Moorthorpe way estate . About 1 an hour when/if it turns up and it finishes about 5.00 pm . No service on Sunday .

Suppose it was taken off because of cost . Do you think Oliver would think about putting it back on ? Obviously after he's made the airport a thriving financial success of course . That would be great. Was it the 55 by any chance? It's a fair walk in to Hackenthorpe Village from there where the medical centre is and also Hackenthorpe Tram station. Such reinstatement would give the Rainbow estate a link to shops, bars and bus and tram services in to town and beyond, making more people use public transport. I think Mr Coppard is in cloud cuckoo land though if he has more interest in Doncaster Airport.

In other words - there is more to the job than the man-in-the-street appreciates - which is often the case.

Village to the doctors about 300 yards on the flat .
RollingJ
From an engineering point of view, that post 68 looks an amazingly clean break - wonder if that small section had gone before, been 'hastily replaced' and failed again? RollingJ
It does look like it has been cut - certainly not a stress fracture - but I can't imagine someone wouldn't have been spotted making such a neat job. Very strange.
