Noisy Neighbours

I have been sending emails to our MP since 2021, her officer would tell me every time that it would be passed on to the council who would then call me after a couple of weeks to pick it up but the same lack of actions would happen. The last response I got from the MP office after I begged them to do something about it was the following on Sept 2022: 

 

"Good Morning,

Thank you for your email.

I am sorry to hear that you are still experiencing these ongoing issues. I understand this is frustrating for you.

I must explain to you that G***, as with any MP, has no power over local Councils. MPs are elected to represent their constituents in Parliament and hold the Government to account on national issues. Therefore, whilst we can contact the Council on behalf of constituents and try to push for resolutions in cases like yours, we are not in a position to instruct the Council or manage complaints about or for them. 

However, you do have 3 local Councillors who are also elected representatives, and they may be better suited to help you with this. A councillor's primary role is to represent their ward and the people who live in it. Councillors provide a bridge between the community and the council."

 

I had already contacted my local councillor so many times and every time, she would promise to get back to me after speaking to the office manager but at no point have I ever gotten a response back from her. I personally have requested to speak to a manager so many times but still yet to receive a call.

 

I tried to raise the issue to the ombudsman but I couldn't do so because I have no long ongoing complaint reference number due to the council consistently closing them down with my permission.

 

It's literally torture, as it's affecting our sleep, work, even coming back home from work trying to relax and watch TV but the constant loud music ringing in your ears.

I know exactly how you feel, the council denied getting any reports from me covering over eighteen months of incident until we told them how come we have them on a floppy disk I'm now holding, reaction was instant, on we've found them. Still nothing was done, during the time we endured her, four close neighbours near her moved out again council disregarded their complaints too.

SCC - and others - would rather help the dregs of society, like your neighbours, rather than the law-abiding ones - makes them feel 'caring'.
