The Moorfoot building was first opened in 1981 as the home of the Manpower Services Commission, but has been used by Sheffield City Council for the last 13 years. In an artist’s impression [for Sheffield City Council and Homes England], the building is the centrepiece of a new neighbourhood of tall buildings that will support more than 700 new homes. Under the plans Moorfoot’s central square would be transformed into a tree-lined public space while the building’s terraces would also feature elevated gardens reminiscent of other modernist buildings such as the iconic Alexandra Road Estate in the London Borough of Camden.

Manpower Services Commission and it's surround area would make a wonderful 15 minute city 😬

Lower picture.  They've taken a massive chunk out of the centre of the building but it does look like anyone living there will get a better view.  It'll also stop the mini whirlwinds that occurred when the wind used to blow over the top of the building.

It looks good.

Also the old Yorkshire Bank / Dempsey block gone on that lower image to make a bigger square out front?

Opening the area up is a good idea in my opinion. I always thought that part of town was so dark and dingy.
