Used to go in the Ship in the 60s, then across to the Casino in the old Roscoe picture palace....

Wasn't it also The Greyhound over the road from The Ship that was knocked down they altered the roads down Shalesmoor?

The interesting thing about that is there was no need to knock it down as the road ended up passing in front of it - the same thing happened to the excelsior at attercliffe

Them old jukeboxes, especially the valve ones, sounded great. My mate Curly put Deep Purple's Child In Time on in the Ship and landlady Jeanette shouted, 'who's put this on, it's s**t', so Curly put 10 bob in the Jukebox and cued it up for 2 more plays.
