We need a government to promote traditional Christian values rather than appeasing other faiths. I thought christianity preached tolerance - love thy neighbour and all that. So what do you think about the Archbishop of Canterbury's intervention in the Rwanda Bill where he said: Ministers were seeking to "outsource our legal and moral responsibilities for refugees and asylum seekers". Is he not correct that turning away asylum seekers is fundamentally anti Christian? After all, Joseph, and a heavily pregnant Mary, Mother of God, were turned away. crookesey
It’s possibly a case of ‘He who shouts the loudest’, Muslims are very vocal about their faith whilst most Christians aren’t, you have to visit Catholic countries to experience vocal Christianity. Annie Bynnol
The unelected leaders of sects always claim to speak on behalf of all those who identify with that sect. Nowadays obedience and adherence to 'religious' practices is a minority sport even among those who class themselves as 'belonging'. People who 'belong'/'don't belong' mostly tolerate other views but there should be no requirement to 'respect' the views of unelected leaders of sects and letting involving them in deciding or influencing what others can and cannot do. It is not that long ago when Christians wanted to use the Law to stop other Christians from working, voting, being paid. shopping, living where they want, having a pint, reading books/films, having sex, having fun etc.

The House of Lords are wrong in delaying the Rwanda plan being implemented. Deterring illegal small boat crossings will result in fewer lives being lost in the English Channel.
