This whole mindset of never trying to cause offence to anyone is just getting ridiculous. Plus any non-Christians who might be offended wouldn't buy them anyway, so what's the problem?

Well said Vrsaljko

Iceland thanks Tory MPs for sales boost from hot cross reaction to ‘tick’ bun

Quote

Mr Walker lauded the reaction on social media on Friday morning, writing: “Big shout out to trendsetters Rees Mogg and 30p Lee for bigging up Iceland’s hot ‘tick’ buns.

They weren’t for real btw lads – and sales of our devout and trad hot cross buns were up 134% yesterday.”

Looks like it's trebles all round in the viral marketing department.

Maybe so.  But imagine what would happen if the religious symbol was not a Christian one but of another religion.

Other religions don't celebrate Easter. If there was a Star of David on a bun it wouldn't be celebrating Easter as Jews don't believe in Jesus as the messiah.

Saying that if there was a Darwin Fish on a Easter bun lookalike I might buy it over a hot cross bun for a laugh, only once though as hot cross buns have horrible candied peel in them, which is just taking the pith.

You know perfectly well what he/she meant. Stop being awkward.

I really don't, you'll have to spell it out for me I'm afraid.

Apparently so they don't upset anyone who isn't Christian they have replaced the cross on hot cross  buns with a tick

I won't be buying any bun with a tick on it,  if people don't want to buy one with a cross they can do what they did in previous years.

What if the tick was made of lovely chocolate, hand painted by George Clooney?
