 I know of a couple of men that are quite well off, look after themselves and weren't beaten by the ugly stick but have gone east.  Some of the reasons  that men go east include the following

 

Feminism have not taken over that part of the world yet.

Maybe they are less jaded when it comes to relationships.

They are raised to put family first.

They still have ideas about tradition and gender roles.

 

The dating pool in the west is littered with single mums, who might be absolutely fine women but most men don't want single mums as it's a losing situation. Throughout the relationship there will be an expectation that he provides for the child, particularly if the father isn't present. During that relationship he will bond with that child and if that relationship ends he loses twice.

Some women prefer platonic relationships with a few men rather than a 'consuming' relationship with one,  taken for granted relationship  could be boring, - and yet couples I see on TV shows seem contented - it can be idyllic or going into the 'unknown'.

Sounds like commitment issues. 

The same women are the ones that get 'left on the shelf' and complain there's no good men left.

Maybe,  but after a woman is a divorcee or a widow,  she doesn't need to get married,  may only want a fella,  she wouldn't get married

for sex because only 20-80% of women get the same result as males according to research.
