From my previous link
TIS A disease which attacks not only the Breast…It sometimes assumes different names; when it comes on the Legs, ‘tis called the Wolf, because if left to itself, ‘twill not quite them ‘till it has devoured them —1707 description of cancer by French surgeon Pierre Dionis.

I bet plenty died due to the lack of sanitation.

Give Thames Water a few more years and we'll have the bubonic plague, typhoid and dysentry back with a vengance.

Yeah I thought diarrhea was one of the biggest killers back in those days....you literally poop yourself to death

Thank heavens for modern medicine especially pain relief. Imagine having to have a tooth pulled out in 1632, god knows what they gave you for pain relief. Even childbirth posed a severe mortality risk to mothers in those days.
