Is a growing trend on social media of people posting their Wetherspoon chip count, most other business would take this kind of public shaming to heart and resolve it.  Not Wetherspoons though, they don't give a monkeys.

Wetherspoons really need to up their game with their chips.  I’m not surprised there is a Wetherspoon chip count on social media.  I think they gave me about 3 last time!

Wetherspoons has a place in the pub sector. It's not for everyone. I've used them the odd time...and yes, they were 'odd' Well, most of them. Not my first choice for a quiet, relaxed chat and a pint! I seem to remember they did a decent breakfast at good money (going back a good few years)

 

 

But why are the toilets always up the top of a mountain or in the next but one county?

Of all the Spoons I have been in. This isnt that bad. The only reason I am so angry about this Spoons isnt Spoons fault. But I miss Damons. I really dont know why that restaurant closed it was a great place.  When the OP said Beighton and it was bad I thought there is a pub Im not aware of. I never even connected the comments with Scarsdale. 

 

As for the comment its Spoons what do you expect. Well actually Spoons varies.  If you want a really rough Spoons go to the Bankers Draft. If you want entertainment sit upstairs at the mezzanine floor looking down at the chaos that is the ground floor. You will see a few druggies and beggars come in causing trouble till the poor staff have to escort them out.  Theres often arguments there. Its the staff I feel for.

Had a burger in a Wetherspoons a few weeks ago, it wasn't bad but it was definitely no where near as good as they used to be.

Wetherspoons breakfasts certainly have. I used to love a Wetherspoons breakfast but the quality is terrible now.  And dont get me wrong Im not comparing it to say a posh pub like Cavells Im comparing it to what it was in the past.  Beer is still decent and cheap.  But I dont go for the breakfast anymore.

Parson Cross has its problems but I’m not sure if that statistic tells the whole story.

Because it wasn't making money. It was a failed business.

A posh pub like Cavells made me laugh... 

 

When I worked in town 25 years ago or so, we'd go to The Bankers Draft and it was great. Cheap  bottles of lager, good service. Peeshed after work with £10. I think there were other pubs like The Cannon, Big Gun and Hen & Chickens that used to look after the rougher crowd... 

 

I think Wetherspoons breakfasts are a mixed bag. If I fancy one on a Sunday am, I'll head to the one opposite Hallamshire Hospital.  Always seems to be OK and the terrace out front in the sunshine is lovely too. Doesn't seem rough at all up there.
