Denise Coates paid herself £221m last year. Nobody was forced to contribute to it.

The gambling industry earns the government a huge amount in tax revenue which why they will not be banned anytime soon. 2

And as far as I am aware they pay full taxes in the UK. Fair play to her.

Al Bundy
I love a bet, especially on the football but the adverts are out of line, especially whilst games are in progress but I think that's stopped now in the UK? The worrying thing for me is the amount of teams that are sponsored by betting firms which in my opinion makes it susceptible to corruption.

That's what they care about. I did hear Chelsea had agreed a deal with Stake to be the new shirt sponsor. They cancelled it because of backlash from the fans

TOM PEPPER
In the 60s Sunday afternoons used to go to a tossing pitch at Swallownest, great atmosphere and a fair run game.
Tipstaff
As my Nan used to say, gambling is a mug's game. I've witnessed some 'family men' who have spent all their wages in the casino on a Friday night and not even had their taxi fare home. There are others who regularly bet on horses and football and shout loudly at their TV screens. I agree with the fact that it can become an addiction, but it's also BIG revenue for HM Government and the advertisers, so they'll be reluctant to ban the ads on TV anytime soon. The ads are very 'in your face' and on constantly throughout all hours of the day depending on which TV channel you're watching.
