Opening date announced

The Cambridge Street Collective, Europe's largest purpose-built food hall, is scheduled to open in Sheffield this month. A VIP launch event will take place on Wednesday, 22 May, followed by a grand public opening on Thursday, 23 May, 2024.

This highly anticipated venue will showcase emerging food and drink talent, carefully curated by operators Blend Family.

Located on Cambridge Street in the heart of Sheffield's city centre, this 20,000-square-foot industrial space aims to be a prime communal and social destination as part of the city's landmark Heart of the City development. Cambridge Street Collective will feature 20 independent food vendors, each offering distinctive takes on global cuisine, providing a unique and diverse dining experience.

Within the expansive venue, visitors can find a BBQ and sushi dining area, four vibrant bars—including one specializing in Japanese flavors—a children’s play area, outdoor seating, rooftop terraces, and a central bar with a stage on top. The food hall also plans to host weekly family-friendly events, live music, and monthly indie markets. Additionally, it will be home to the Blend Culinary Foundation Community Kitchen, a social enterprise.

Matt Bigland, founder and CEO of Blend Family, expressed his enthusiasm for the opening: “Sheffield is our home, and bringing Europe's biggest purpose-built food hall to our city is really exciting!

“Our goal is to bring together a community of talented food entrepreneurs, representing Sheffield’s diverse melting pot. We aim to provide high-profile opportunities for local food talent while offering guests a journey around the globe with a taste of Sheffield’s rich cultural DNA.”

Is Hungry Buddha the Nepalese place at Moor Market? Their stuff is very good.

Tang Hot Pot at Cutlery Works is also very good, I wonder if they are relocating to Cambridge Street or expanding?

Hungry Buddha is the Moor Market place.

Not sure on whether any of them are expanding or just moving as yet.

I'm not sure for certain for each one, but most of them have at some point confirmed expansion, rather than just moving.
