The industry has been in decline for rather a long time, but more recently, the Tories and Brexit have a lot to answer for.

The UK's fisheries were a central part of the debate in the lead-up to the Brexit referendum in 2016, but why was such a relatively small industry so important to both sides?

I’m not sure how accurate the prediction polls are but they are saying that Labour could wipe out nearly all the political parties, winning the largest majority since the Second World War. It’s a lot of power for any political party and if that’s the case it seems to me they can do what they like once they become the government, unless their backbenchers decide not to vote for some of there policies and start to rebel against the Prime Minister.  

 

It’s going to be an interesting time in politics in the future.
