Not in the same category of stupidity as those who voted to make us poorer and the country an international laughing stock.

' Take Back Control ' we've lost control and damaged our economy;

Solve the immigration problem,   Eight years on and immigration has increased, the only difference being the immigrants have decreased from EU countries and increased from non European countries.

Increased trade opportunities.  Complete load of nonsense. a trade deal between a country with a market of 68 million is never going to be on a level with a Trade Bloc offering a market of 450 Million.

Only people with no understanding of how business works could have believed that Brexit was a good idea.

At least we've given the Aussies a good laugh.

Keep trying to polish that turd.

This post is in response to a post on this thread, that tends to be the way forums work.

It's the politicians who've done that, not the people who voted for Brexit.

The voters were lied to at every opportunity by none other than Boris Johnson, (before we knew he was a serial liar across all departments,) so we never got a truly clear picture of Brexit. This was reflected in the almost equal numbers of 'for' and 'against' voters.

Added to that Boris offered 'To get Brexit done!' with his 'oven ready' plan (- which it clearly wasn't) thus managing to conflate a flawed Brexit result with a similarly flawed  general election vote. He really should  be in prison for lying so blatantly and effectively to the British public on so important a matter.

By 2024 the Tories had now had 14 years to make it work (much of it with Boris in charge) and woefully failed to achieve the promised results (or any other for that matter...)

Neither can anybody really say whether things would have been much better if we'd stayed in the EU, as they don't seem to be doing too well either. Brexit therefore should no longer be an issue. The only things that you can say for sure, is that politicians tell lies, and don't deliver on the things they say they will. Which begs the question, why do we have so many of them when  most of them are dishonest, useless, very expensive lame ducks?

I do agree with what you are saying, particularly about politicians telling lies, but would things have been different if there hadn’t been a covid lockdown and Ukraine war which was a shock to the economy and out of the hands of politicians.

The best thing about all of this is the muckslinging Tweets Labour did, all coming back to slap them in their faces!

#FreeGearKeir now trending!
