Nobody voted for net zero, nobody wanted this policy so why vote for the conservatives.

I'll be voting for the Green party

Don't you think the Greens will be even more inclined to push for net zero and much more besides. They are more fanatical about their 'green' policies' than the Conservatives.

Definitely a case of 'be careful what you wish for.'

IMO carefully managed and located small Nuclear is the only relatively clean fuel, but the Greens won't entertain it in any way, shape, or form.

Oh ignore him Slinny, he can't win in the battle of ideas or votes, therefore he has to degrade people. That's Tom Pepper's level.

The cracks are starting to appear as the GE grows closer,  incoherent post are  appearing quite often from the Tory  rule breaking Party  voters.  I hope they seek some help.  :help:

Community pubs have existed for years and there's nothing to stop them buying one.

They were shut for a reason in that they were not economically viable.

A pub could still be economically viable as a pub but the building be worth more to the pub co if they sold it to a developer to turn into flats.

People don't drink as much these days cheap booze has put paid to them, there are far better uses for redundant premises, Nurseries, restaurants, housing even mosques etc.

Gardeners Rest is a fine example of a community owned public house, although it can be embarrassing listening to when the breakout a chorus of Keep the Red Flag Flying, before some of them set off for their holiday/2nd homes in France Belgium and Whitby etc   😂

Majority of people voting for Thatcher would have been ordinary people, winning three consecutive terms isn't pot luck

Correct,  she was certainly a force to be reckoned with, and an impressive persona, and, being a woman, she was something new so giving people fresh hope that things could be different.

They were.

But how many voters actually understood what 'free market economics' meant long term, or recognised the price that would have to be paid when it had run full circle. She crippled manufacturing and heavy industry of the North, in favour of 'financial services' based in the South East, effectively splitting the country into 'haves' and 'have nots'

Thatcher's policies culminated in the financial crash of 2007 /8 from which we have never really recovered, leaving the country destitute and no longer able to afford even the basic services we relied on, and no way of earning a living. We are now in the shadow of Neoliberalism.

Simplified analysis of course, but how do you feel about the world now, in the hands of the winning team - the super rich elite?
