I notice Corbyn is standing, he says that he has no other alternative, which I understand.

But he is 75, his other option is to retire, having become reasonably wealthy from being an MP.

How wealthy can a socialist become, until they become a capitalist?

He was wealthy before he became an MP but  he’s not as wealthy as Sunak so that doesn’t count

The most laughable thing about this election is that after all the time and money spent on the Rwanda scheme, we were told that the flights would finally begin in July but we're now being told that they'll have to be delayed until after the election. If the Tories had any confidence that these flights would actually happen, why didn't they wait until they'd started before setting  the electon date and give themselves a chance of winning? I heard several Tories on the radio yesterday, including Grant Shapps, telling us that Labour would scrap the scheme so the only way of guaranteeing that they would happen would be to vote Conservative.  This was totally predictable and typical of how devious the Tories are. Do they really think that anyone is gullible enough to fall for this after all their broken promises about controlling immigration since 2010?

Not very, I would say.

Hey Axe, I'm reading that the Conservative Party haven't selected their candidates in over 150 seats, and are asking for people, pretty please, if they wouldn't at all mind putting themselves up to be representatives.

What about it Axe?

You could be the next Grant Schapps....One minute Grant is there in his back bedroom selling get rich quick schemes using 4 different usernames (Michael Green and Corrine Stockheath being the most famous), the next he's Education Secretary, Party Chairman, Treasury Minister, running Transport and Defence.

You'd be brilliant at it!

Now now Hacks, no need for peevishness.

Look at the grief Maggie Thatch had from her own side when she was seeking election to be leader of her party. There were plenty of the old boys network laughing at her, calling her a fishwife and a parvenu for putting her name forward

I genuinely believe that they do think many people in this country are that gullible.
