Nanny state Labour is back.....

Ministers 'looking very carefully' at crossbow ban following Bushey triple killing

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/ministers-considering-crossbow-ban-following-33216734

How many crossbow murders have their been over the past 20 years?

...

But yeah, you just focus  on one different incident and do a knee jerk reaction

From Crossbow laws being urgently reviewed after three women killed, says minister

Quote

He said Yvette Cooper, the home secretary, was “very carefully” examining a call for evidence that was launched by the Home Office earlier this year.

...

The call for evidence closed under the Conservative government in April but there has been no further progress towards changing the laws governing crossbows.

...

He said that Cooper was “very concerned” about the current legislation. “She will want to look at the evidence that already has been collected and look at the circumstances not just of what happened yesterday but of other incidents as well.

So the Tories called for evidence of misuse of crossbows to be collected earlier this year but were too busy infighting to do anything with the results. Labour announce they are going to look at the evidence gathered under the Tories and you claim it's a knee jerk reaction.

Problem with brexit is that the conservatives were remainers, even though they said they supported leave so no wonder brexit didn't work

Would you allow Gareth Southgate to select Spain's team for this Sunday's final?  Clearly not because you will end up with their top scorer being put in the goal and their Goalie playing up front

So why were remainers in charge of the Brexit process?

Because you just don't.  Unless you are a spoilt brat stamping your feet until you get your own way.

As has been pointed out, that's what the leavers had been doing since we joined. There's nothing wrong with campaigning about things a previous government implemented that you don't like - we do live in a democracy after all.

Whilst I'm sure we'll rejoin at some point, it's not going to be any time soon because the EU simply aren't going to allow it until they can be sure we won't start wanting to leave again. That will probably rely on those old people with rose tinted views of the empire who voted for brexit in such numbers to die off first.

Remainers weren't in charge of all of it - just the beginning bits. That was because the leave campaigners hadn't actually thought about what sort of brexit could be implemented and didn't want the responsibility of dealing with the inevitable compromises that would result. They eventually took over when May's deal was too remainery for their liking but even then Johnson and Frosty the no idea man couldn't implement something workable and Sunak had to modify their deal even before the ink was dry on it.

Old people have rights also and can vote how they want, with it being a democracy...

There have  been nine murders with crossbows since 2011.

There have been 244 murders with a knife in just one year.

The Tories were looking at toughening up purchasing and owning rules - as the paper clearly states here:

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-exploring-toughening-crossbow-rules

not banning them outright.

David Cameron makes final plea for Britain to vote to remain in the EU

Have you forgotten Boris Johnson (and Michael Gove) were a huge part of the campaign for us to leave the EU?

Remember the big red bus with the 'savings' on the side?

It's embarrassing that they're still whinging about a referendum result that happened eight years ago on the 2024 general election topic.  I suggest those whingers follow the example of bona fide Conservative voters who accept Labour won the general election and are wishing them all the best in governing the country and supporting them.
